Dr. Mark Newkirk, BS., MS., V.M.D.
Dr. Mark Newkirk, lecturer, seminar leader, and author, combines traditional medicine and surgery with Holistic Alternatives to access the best of both worlds to help your pet’s health.
Dr. Mark Newkirk was born and raised in South Jersey. He has worked with animals since he was a teenager as a kennel assistant.
He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. He has post graduate knowledge in animal alternative therapies to treat the whole animal in the best way possible.
As a Veterinarian, Dr. Newkirk has been serving Southern New Jersey for over 35 years. He is extensively trained in medicine and surgery and also is skilled in the care of exotic pets such as reptiles and birds.
Dr. Michael Bush
Dr. Michael Bush grew up in Michigan and graduated from Michigan State Veterinary School in 1972. He moved to NJ in 1973. He owned and operated Linwood Animal Hospital and retired June 2006. He started working part time for Dr. Newkirk in the spring of 2008.
Dr. Sarah Tran
Dr. Sarah Tran is a 2014 graduate from St. George’s University, School of Veterinary Medicine. She also attended Kansas State Veterinary University in her clinical year. Shortly after graduating, she started an internship under Dr. Newkirk learning Alternative Medicine. Dr. Tran is also certified in Veterinary Orthopedic Manipulation (VOM), also known as chiropractic medicine. Other specialties include avian/ exotic medicine, dentistry, surgery, ophthalmology and behavior. In her spare time she enjoys dog agility, horseback riding, karate, hiking and traveling. Dr. Tran is very excited to be joining the Newkirk Family Veterinary team!
Dr. Marc Weissman
Dr. Marc Weissman joined our family here at Newkirk Family Veterinarians in October of 2013. He studied abroad in Bologna, Italy, and continued his education here at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York and at the University of Missouri. He has been an associate veterinarian in Freehold, New Jersey, as well as, owner and medical director of Princeton Veterinary Group in Kingston, New Jersey. His areas of special interest include allergy and dermatology, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and orthopedics. He currently resides in Jackson, New Jersey with his wife, Tina. Together they have two sons and currently have several four-legged children, including two cats and two dogs. When he is not busy providing care to animals of all sizes, he enjoys wine tasting, traveling, rock climbing, and yoga.
